St. John Ferry & Transfers
The Island of St. John cannot be reached by air. Visitors to this Caribbean paradise find that the St. John ferry is the easiest method of reaching its shores. Much of the Virgin Islands is connected by a ferry system, and the St. John ferry is one of the easiest to navigate. Most guests will arrive at Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas. With an airport that services many major carriers directly from the US, multiple spots on St. Thomas also offer access to the St. John ferry. From either Red Hook or Charlotte Amalie, St. John ferry crossings are easily available several times daily. A St. John ferry ride from Charlotte Amalie will cost around $7 and take forty-five minutes. The St. John ferry from Charlotte Amalie runs six routes daily, the last leaving for the Island at 5:30pm. For guests departing from Red Hook (on the East End of St. Thomas), St. John ferry service takes only twenty minutes and costs $3. The St. John ferry from Red Hook departs hourly from 8:00am through midnight. All service on the St. John ferry heads for Cruz Bay, the central port of the Island.
