Entrance is through an electronic gate and a native stone entryway welcomes guests into this mesmerizing setting. A dramatic coral stone staircase curves down to the spacious terrace where an Italian Baroque lion's head fountain bubbles. An additional Italian marble fountain graces the pool's edge. Villa Carlota is built in three pavilions and offers five deluxe air-conditioned bedroom/bath suites.

The air conditioned main pavilion features an expansive Great Room ("India Room") and houses the gourmet kitchen complete with a cypress ceiling, Brazilian granite and custom mahogany cabinetry. Nearby is the dining area which features an 18th century Balinese teak monastery door that serves as the dining table. O n the other side of the Great Room is the living area furnished with comfortable chairs and sofas as well as a media center complete with a 50 inch flat screen satellite TV, a Bose sound system and extensive movie and music collections.

Louvered and screened mahogany doors open dramatically from the living area to the expansive covered verandah which overlooks the mesmerizing turquoise ocean views, nearby emerald islands and expanses of blue sky. Alfresco dining may be enjoyed on this verandah on a large table.

An elegant staircase leads from the Great Room to the oversized second level master suite and home office. The king bedded master suite features a cathedral ceiling with Raffles East India fans, mahogany wood flooring, custom made light fixtures and designer four poster bed. The room also features a spacious air-conditioned walk in closet. Dramatic mahogany doors open to a pergola verandah on the ocean side of the pavilion that is furnished with inviting chaise lounges and provides views out over the lush National Park lands and the sea. An en-suite marble bath features separate his and her sinks linked by a large wall to wall mirror, Jacuzzi bathtub and separate glass and marble shower.

Just beyond the master bath is the villa's roofed hot tub pavilion with a coral stone floor. While the spa pavilion is located off the master suite, it is easily accessible form the driveway courtyard or from the Great Room with a key.

Up the winding staircase from the master suite level is the villa's third level which is the setting for the second bedroom/bath suite. The second bedroom boasts a four poster queen sized bed and spectacular views.

The pool terrace features a lovely infinity pool and an ocean view-ideal for an afternoon of lounging or an evening under the twinkling star light. Outdoor living at Villa Carlota is simply stunning. The large infinity pool seems to flow into the glistening ocean. Plush loungers surround the pool deck, providing ample spots to relax in the warm sunshine. Near the terrace and pool, located just outside of the main pavilion, a green "bamboo" marble wet bar is complete with a mini-fridge and icemaker and is very convenient for sunset cocktails. Behind the wall with the lion's head fountain is the stainless steel professional gas rotisserie grill that is built into a stone grilling area and connects to both he kitchen and dining area.

The villa's second pavilion is located on the other side of the pool terrace and offers two centrally air-conditioned king bedroom/bath suites built on two levels ensuring privacy. Each bedroom/bath suite features a romantic king four poster bed complete with Vera Wang mattresses, Chinese antique armoire, flat screen Satellite TV and a private covered balcony. Both baths feature Italian marble and hand crafted cabinets as well as overhead rain showers plus three body massage jets in the wall. A few steps lead from the lower suite's patio to the pool.

Villa Carlota's second pavilion also houses the laundry room which is accessed via a private service entrance so that the housekeepers may enter the house from the driveway without coming through the villa's main entry. The laundry room offers two washers and two dryers.

Just adjacent to the second pavilion is a small exercise room. The exercise room is not air-conditioned but is fully screened and enjoys the tradewinds. I t is complete with a Precor Treadmill and Precor Elliptical Trainer.

A Cottage Suite is located across the courtyard and provides a very private hideaway from the rest of the property. Built on two levels and air-conditioned. the Cottage Suite offers travertine tile, a comfortable living area with a balcony overlooking the main villa, a full bath and a small kitchen as well as a covered patio for alfresco dining. Located on the upper level of the Cottage, is a king (or two twin) bedroom and full bath .

Villa Carlota provides a spectacular escape on St. John. The home offers pure sophistication and luxury with its fanciful castle turret, French terracotta tile roof and exquisite finishes. Guests will be drawn to admire the unique mahogany doors and windows which are clad in bronze outside to coordinate with the bronze railings. Please note that 1-8 guests will have use of the Main Villa only (3 king bedroom suite and 1 queen in the upper suite) in two separate pavilions on either side of the pool terrace. If there are 9-10 guests, they will have use of the Main villa and it's four bedroom suites plus the Cottage Suite across the driveway courtyard.
